Analysis and Team Comments

Team Analysis

“Mel took a big step this weekend, getting back behind the wheel after her scary moment at SIlverstone last year. It was great to see her take that step to rebuild her confidence and trust in the car. It’s a point of pride for the entire team to see her making such a huge effort.

Mel has gone into this season with a desire to focus on her development as a driver. She made steady progress in this goal at Snetterton, learning a completely new circuit and showing determination to push herself further. Her commitment to improving with every session was clear, and hitting her target lap time by the end of the day was a testament to that effort.

We are excited to watch her continue to grow throughout the season, setting herself up for an even stronger 2026.”

Driver Analysis

Mel Higgins

This year is all about my development, getting myself properly in shape for a successful 2026.

Part of that journey means getting back into Addie after last year’s Silverstone “love-tap”, rebuilding confidence, and tackling new challenges head-on.

Snetterton was completely unfamiliar, not even a simulator run beforehand, so open practice was invaluable. Armed only with a memorised map, I went in blind, clocking a (nervous) best time of 2 minutes 50 seconds. Qualifying came quickly, and each lap chipped away at that hesitation, my confidence grew with every turn.

With Le Mans-style cars, Radicals, and 400+ BHP BMWs in the mix, outright pace wasn’t the goal. I chose to race my own race, my own lap times were my only real competition. The races were a great experience, learning to handle competitors passing a little closer than I’m used to while keeping it clean.

By Race 2, I set myself a challenge to shave a total of 10 seconds across the day. On my very last lap of the day, I did it. Progress! I know there’s more in the tank however, so I’m looking forward to coming back later in the year. This wasn’t just about finishing the race. It was about proving to myself that I could push harder, rebuild my confidence, and take another step towards where I want to be. There’s more time to find, more performance to refine, and plenty of motivation to keep pushing forward. I’m ready to dig deeper and make even bigger strides towards 2026″
